2017 Astana Kazakhstan Expo (June to September)

The theme of 2017 Astana Kazakhstan Expo is “Future Energy”. The Expo will last three months, from Jun. 10, 2017 to Sept. 10, 2017, and push the envelope in promoting the most efficient, suitable, feasible sustainable development solutions. Beisides, the possibility of future energy discovery will also be discussed; participants will be led to take energy into account from common and global perspective, and appeal to human beings to fully realize the challenge and problem while promoting the economic and social development, maintain health and living environment on human beings’ own initiative; raise private awareness of responsibility, seek for the balance between resource utilization and sustainable development. Participants may include representatives from approximately 100 countries, 10 international organization, and is expected to draw five million visitors. The total area of Expo is more than 100 hectare, including 25 hectare pavilions.

The host city, Astana, is the center for Eurasia, one of the youngest capital around the world, also a modern city of Central Asia. Astana is located in north of central Kazakhstan, about 1300km from Almaty. Surrounded by Ishim River, Astana has become the production base of industry and agriculture, also the traffic hub of railway transportation with agreeable weather and quality environment. In the past 13 years, Astana has changed from a bleak town with only 0.2 million population to a modern metropolis with strong influence. It is the epitome of Kazakhstan’s rapid development. The international status of Astana will increasingly improve with the host of 2017 Astana Kazakhstan Expo.
