Chinese president Xi Jinping met German president Steinmeier in Berlin on July.5. The two heads of state exchanged ideas extensively and reached a consensus on Sino-German relationship development.

President Xi Jinping pointed that this year is the 45th anniversary for China and Germany to establish diplomatic relations. Over the last 45 years, the two sides have adhered to the spirit of mutual respect and seeking common ground while reserving differences, have continued to spread cooperation in various fields and to expand consensus and common interests. Since the comprehensive strategic partnership was established between China and Germany in 2014, the bilateral ties have kept in a high-level. The high-level of two sides have had a close interaction, deep and practical cooperation and extensive communication field. In order to inject more vitality into all round cooperation between China and Germany, bring more benefits to our two peoples and promote world peace, stability and prosperity, China is willing to make efforts with Germany.

President Xi Jinping emphasized that the world is undergoing profound and complex changes today. As world's major economies, trading powers and high-influence countries in their respective regions, the strategic significance for China and Germany to strengthen cooperation is more prominent.
