Turkey

The Turkish Republic is a country across Europe and Asia, it is close to the Black Sea on the north, close to the Mediterranean on the south, borders with Syria and Iraq on the southeast, close to Aegean Sea on the west, and borders with Greece and Bulgaria as well as Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Iran on the east part. Turkey's geographical position and geopolitical strategic significance are extremely important, and it is the crossroad connecting Europe and Asia.

Turks is the hybrid seed of the original inhabitants of the European Mediterranean descent and the Turks, and Ottoman I established the Ottoman Empire in 1299. To May 29, 1453, Mohammed II captured Constantinople and destroyed the Byzantine Empire. In the 16th century and 17th century, especially Suleiman I when it reached its peak and crossed three continents including Europe, Asia and Africa. It began to decline in the 19th century. In 1919, Turkey repulsed the foreign invaders. On October 29, 1923 the Republic of Turkey was established.

Though Turkey is an Asian country, but it adopts the European model in terms of politics, economy and culture and it is an EU candidate. The Constitution stipulates that Turkey is a country that is democratic with the separation of religion and government and is ruled by law. Turkey's diplomatic focus is in the western world, with maintaining the United States as its traditional strategic partner while strengthening relations with European countries.

Turkey is a member of NATO and a founding member of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development and a member of the Group of Twenty. It has a strong industrial base, is a developing emerging economy, and is also one of the fastest growing countries in the world.
