Croatia
Croatia, known as the Republic of Croatia in full, is a republic located in the southeastern Europe and at the junction between the Mediterranean and the Panonian Plain on the Balkan Peninsula.
Croatia became independent from the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia in 1991 and its capital is Zagreb. Croatia officially joined the EU on July 1, 2013.
Croatia is a high-income market economy. Croatia's economy is dominated by tertiary industry with secondary industry as assistance, and tourism plays an important role in the national economy. Croatia is a country with a relatively developed economy and a good economic base in the former Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. The tourism, construction, shipbuilding and pharmaceutical industries enjoy a relatively high level of development. Football and tennis are Croatia's first sports events.
