The Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, referred to as Afghanistan in short, is a landlocked country in central Asia and implements the presidential republic system.

Afghanistan is located in intersection among the West Asia, South Asia and Central Asia. It borders with Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan on the north, neighbors with China with its prominent strip on the northeast, adjacent to Pakistan on the east and southeast, and borders with Iran on the west.

Three-fifths of the country's land is inconvenient in terms of traffic. It has a continental climate featuring dry weather and little rain for the whole year. It has national, religious, linguistic, and geographically links with most of the neighboring countries.
