Iran


Islamic Republic of Iran, located in Western Asia, is a Middle-East country. Iran, close to the Caspian Sea on the middle and north side, neighboring to the Persian Gulf and the Arabian Sea on the south. Iran, adjacent to Pakistan and Afghanistan on the east side, bordering on Turkmenistan on the northeast, neighboring to Azerbaijan and Armenia on the northwest and bordering on Turkey and Iraq on the west, has an area of about 1,648,195 square kilometers, ranking eighth in the world. According to the Iranian national statistical database on July 18, 2014, the Iranian population hit 77,598,379.

Iran is one of the major economies in Asia and has strong economic strength. Iran's economy is dominated by the oil exploitation industry and is one of the world's oil and gas powers. Lt is located in the Middle East where oil and natural gas are the most abundant in the world, its oil exports act as the economic lifeline, with its oil production capacity and oil exports ranking fourth and second respectively in the world, and it is a member of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries. Iran has developed petrochemical, steel and automobile manufacturing industry as well as electronic industry, nuclear industry and computer hardware and software industry.

Iran is a founding member of the United Nations and a member of the Non-Aligned Movement, the OIC and the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).

After years of tough negotiations, relevant parties finally reached a historic comprehensive agreement on the Iranian nuclear issue at the final stage of negotiation. Iran promised it will never seek to acquire nuclear weapons and praised the Iranian nuclear agreement as "historic moment".
