Uruguay

Uruguay, known as Uruguay East Coast Republic in full, is located in the southeastern part of South America, on the east bank of Uruguay River and La Plata River, neighbors Brazil in the north, borders Argentina in the west and is close to the Atlantic in the southeast.

About 90% of the residents are white, and 8% are Indo-European mixed. Most of the citizens believe in Catholicism. The official language is Spanish. The capital is Montevideo. On August 25, 1825 it declared independence from the rule of the Brazilian Empire. Most of the territory is flat terrain and its agriculture and animal husbandry are developed. It is now a member of the Association of South American Nations.

Uruguay has a temperate climate, and by virtue of beautiful natural scenery and stable social environment, it is known as the "South America Switzerland"; and because of its shape which resembles diamond and it is abound in amethyst stone, it is known as the "Country of Diamond".

Uruguay's per capita gross domestic product is not low, its per capita living standards, government cleanliness and political stability rank high in South America, and Uruguay is a moderately-developed country.
