Slovak

The Slovak Republic, referred to as Slovakia in short, is a landlocked country of Central Europe, with Czech in the north, Poland in the north, Ukraine in the east, Hungary in the south and Austria in the southwest. It is located in the eastern part of the former Czechoslovakia. On January 1, 1993, Slovakia became an independent sovereign state.

Slovakia’s terrain is high in the north and low in the south, it has beautiful sceneries, a pleasant climate, many historical and cultural attractions as well as rich tourism resources. In addition, Slovakia is one of the countries in the world with the largest number of castles, from ancient castle ruins to well-preserved collection of museums. In 2006, Slovakia stepped into the ranks of developed countries.

Slovakia joined the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) on March 29, 2004 and became a member of the European Union on May 1, 2004 and became a member of the Schengen Convention on December 21, 2007. Since January 2009 it joined the euro zone.

The call of Slovakia for this region was initially testified in the 15th century. In the 16th century this name was frequently used, the Slavs settled down here in the 5th century, and since the 9th century they called themselves Slavs, so the name could have been used before the 15th century.
