Bahrain
The Kingdom of Bahrain (The Kingdom of Bahrain), referred to as Bahrain for short. Bahrain, a Western-Asia country, is located in Western Asia. It is an island country in the southwest of the Persian Gulf and is close to Qatar and Saudi Arabia. It has a tropical desert climate, with oil being the pillar of its national economy. Arabs account for about 60 per cent and 75 to 80 percent of the population live in urban areas.
Islam is the state religion, with the vast majority of its residents believing in Islam Shiah. This country generally exercises worship and other religious ceremonies for five times a day. Arabic is the official language.
Bahrain was originally a British colony and declared its independence on August 15, 1971. Its capital is Manama (Manama).
Bahrain means "two streams of water and two seas" in Arabic. Oil was discovered in 1933, and Bahrain became the first to exploit oil in the Gulf region. It is the banking and financial center in the Gulf region.
