Côte d'Ivoire

Côte d'Ivoire, known as the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire in full, is a West African country. It is adjacent to Ghana, Liberia, Guinea, Mali and Burkina Faso. The coastline is about 500 kilometers long.

Côte d'Ivoire was one of the most prosperous West African tropical countries during the Cold War, but after 1985, its economy cannot recover after a setback because of political corruption, coupled with lack of reform, domestic riots and civil war between 2002 and 2011.

Côte d'Ivoire is a country where the country is established on the basis of agriculture. Facing the decline in global agricultural prices, the country faces great competition in terms of exports of major agricultural products cocoa and coffee.

Côte d'Ivoire means "Ivory Coast" in French and at the request of its Government, the People's Republic of China transliterated it as Côte d'Ivoire. The United Nations has been using this transliterated name since December 31, 1985.

On October 28, 2015, the 70th session of the United Nations General Assembly elected members of the United Nations Human Rights Council and Côte d'Ivoire was successfully elected fwith a term from 2016 to 2018.
