Congo

The Republic of Congo, referred to as Congo (Brazzaville) in short, is located in the midwest of Africa with the equator running through its central, neighbors Congo (Kinshasa) and Angola in the east and the south, borders Central Africa and Cameroon in the north, borders Gabon in the west and neighbors the Atlantic in the southwest with a coastline of more than 150 kilometers and a total area of 342,000 square kilometers.

At the end of the 13th century and in the early 14th century, the Bantu people established the Kingdom of the Congo in the lower reaches of the Congo River. On October 3, 1880, they were occupied and colonized by the French. On August 15, 1960, the Congo (Brazzaville) became formally independent.

The two pillars of the economy of the Republic of Congo are oil and timber. The Ocean Railway is the only railway in the country and also one of the earliest railways in Africa.
