The Kingdom of Denmark, referred to as Denmark for short, is one of the five Nordic countries and is a constitutional monarchy with two autonomous territories, one is the Faroe Islands and the other is Greenland. The mainland of Denmark includes Jutland Peninsula, Phine Island, Zealand and nearby islands. It is separated by the North Sea and the Baltic Sea with Sweden and Norway, borders with Germany in the south, and the capital and the largest city is Copenhagen.

In June 1397 Denmark established the Kalmar Union together with Sweden and Norway, and became the leader of the Union. The world's first national flag is the Danish flag in 1219, and it is known as the "Danes’ Power."

Denmark is a highly-developed capitalist country with a sound social welfare system, and its citizens enjoy a high quality of life. Denmark is a member of the EU and one of the founding members of NATO.
