Cuba

The Republic of Cuba, referred to as Cuba in short, its name is derived from the Tito "coabana", meaning "fertile land" and "wonderful place".

Cuba is an archipelagic country in the northern Caribbean region in North America, and Hawana is the economic and political center as well as the capital.

Cuba is one of the five remaining socialist countries (China, North Korea, Cuba, Vietnam, Laos) in the world, and is the only socialist country in Latin America. It is known for the Gulf event and the Cuban missile crisis in 1960s of the last century.

US President Barack Obama shook hands with Cuban State Council Chairman Raul Castro at the memorial service of South Africa's first black president Mandela in the wake of the US economic blockade for Cuba for several decades which led to difficulties for the people in the maintenance of life. With the 78.3-year-old average life expectancy and 99% literacy rate, Cuba's human development index reaches a very high level for many years.

The island of Cuba is the largest island in the Big Antilles, known as the "Key to the Gulf of Mexico", and the island of Cuba resembles the crocodile, therefore it is also known as the "Green Crocodile of the Caribbean".
